Honey, Bee Products
Berry Ledges Apiary is a small mom-and-pop apiary nestled in Milton, an Historic District of Litchfield. John and Janet Baker are the beekeepers. With several bee yards scattered around the Litchfield Hills, they provide a diverse mix of raw honeys to the local clientele.
Their honey is raw and contains all the pollen and “impurities” which not only make it nutritious but very flavorful. Wildflower light honey, with its mild flavor, is produced from the nectar that the bees collect from spring and early summer flowers. Dark honey is produced from late summer and fall flowers. Honey lasts a lifetime, so don’t throw it away when it hardens (crystallizes), just warm it up. It also doesn’t need to be refrigerated. Enjoy this honey of a treat! |
